Today I was going to post about something brilliant! Too bad I didn't write it down before going to sleep. I usually remember EVERYTHING. It's shocking how much I remember. Whatever it was, would have been really good. Hopefully it will come to me another day.

Maybe my mind has been preoccupied with outdoor spaces. Truth be told I have never given much thought to outdoor spaces because I have never had one of my own. Now that we do have one I have been giving it way too much thought.

There is something to be said for being the first to live in a house. The house is yours and yours alone. The downside of purchasing said house is that the backyard looks like this:

And per the contract it now looks like this:

And on Monday it will look like this:

Just kidding! But one can dream, right? Backyards can really be a runaway train. And we've come to realize that it all cannot be done in one summer. There will be grass, oh yes there will be grass. And if we play our cards right there will be a garden. The sprinklers will be installed. But that swing set, larger patio, outdoor table and extra shrubbery will have to wait a while longer. I'm just thankful to have a house and finally our own yard where the kids can play. I'm excited to use the phase "go play outside kids" and enjoy a clean house for a little while. So while it may not look like this

I will be happy and content with whatever lands in our backyard Monday. We will all have to wait and see!
