MMB: beverly hills what a thrill

Last week I had the pleasure of watching Troop Beverly Hills with my daughter. It was so much fun! Troop Beverly Hills is my favorite 80's movie. And there is some stiff competition there! I fell in love all over again with those yellow stripes, khaki uniforms and green berets.

Such a good movie!

And as you can see, it inspired today's mood board.

MMB: funky, modern office

If I was fancier, this would be my office. I'm in love. It all started with the awesome light fixture.

mmb: warm, inviting living room

Today's Monday Moodboard is a bit more traditional. I really enjoyed embracing the fall colors on this one. Brown, mustard, orange and coral. An oldie but a goodie as far as color combos go. It probably helped that the leaves are changing and it is gorgeous fall around here.

This family has the most beautiful home. It's an older home that they have been restoring themselves. Maybe I can someday snag some shots of it. Seriously one of my favorite homes I've ever been in. Now that they are closer to completing their renovations they are on to decorating.

Here is their moodboard

Happy Monday!!

MMB: frugal and fabulous craft room

They're baaaaaack! Monday Mood Board! Goodness it's been a long time! And it feels good to back in the swing of things. It only took me until October to be in school mode :)

Today's mood board is for an office slash craft room slash playroom. And it is especially fun because it is using things the family already has and adding fabric and a few accessories to pull it all together. The furniture is already in the room thanks to bringing two ikea expedits from other rooms and a free metal side of the road score. Yes!

This client means business so I wouldn't be surprised if we saw the after a few days after the fabric comes :)

Happy October everybody!

monday moodboard: neutral nursery

I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to work on this e-design project recently. I wish I could live in this nursery! Here is the board we came up with.

The thing I love most about decorating for baby is the deadline involved! Plus that good ole nesting phase! Cannot wait for the afters :)

Happy Monday!!

monday mood board: multitasking tween dream

I have been super busy with new projects lately that have been so much fun. I cannot sit down without doodling with my graph paper and colored pencils! Today's room started out easy in my mind but grew to be quite a challenge...until I concurred that beast! I am soooo excited to get to the house and make sure everything will work. It should as far as initial measurements go. Woot! I have to wait until Friday and I am almost bouncing in my seat in anticipation.

These two boys need a big long room turned into their bedroom, living room, play space and storagepalooza. Well, my friends, I think I figured it out!

Phew!

The biggest requirements were storage and seating. Look at this amazing piece!!!

16 lockers and a hanging rod {the room is closet free}yes please! Plus it comes in 24 colors. I'm thinking shamrock. I think it's awesome. Toss a little storage ottoman in the middle and we've even got some extra seating too. Love it!

Friday cannot come soon enough!

And in other news...what if Monday Mood Board became a link party? I've been thinking about it for a while but I don't know how many people would want to or would have mood boards to link up. Discuss :)

monday mood board: timeless, neutral playroom

Happy Monday all! Hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today's mood board is the first version of a playroom I am working on. It's in the early stages so it is sure to change a bit. And as you can see it is not your average play room. This room is designed to fit in with the rest of their gorgeous home, be timeless and last for many years to come. Oh and also be very pretty but gender neutral. Phew! Here goes.

There will be more color added in the artwork and accessories. I think it is going to be one awesome room. This play table happens to look very similar to the home's kitchen table. And the client wanted to build the room around it. Don't mind if I do.

This project has been so fun already and I am so thrilled to be on board!

monday mood board: fun and young family room

When I got the pictures for this e-design I was so excited because a} they are the cutest young family ever b} their house is super charming and I love it and c} I went to high school with the mama.

Using some of their pieces, new pieces and vintage inspired finds this is what I put together.

I love this sunburst mirror from home depot for a $35 steal.

And these painted striped curtains are still some of the greatest things I've ever seen. Easy on the pocket book, heavy on style.

It will be so fun seeing it come together!

nursery reveal

I'm so excited to have my first e-design sent back to me! I love how it all turned out. Here is the board one more time.

They did an amazing job getting it all ready for the arrival of their first baby girl.

I wish I could take credit for the stripes but the homeowners executed them perfectly before I came into the picture. They totally make the room.

I'm so in love with the fruit!

They worked so hard and it turned out so well. I am so happy to have been a part of it!
Happy Baby!!!

monday mood board: navy, yellow and turquoise

Today's couple wants a master bedroom that they both love and wanted to do it for as little money as possible. A small budget can seem so hard at first but once you get into it they are so much fun. Especially after all the extra hard work has paid off in the end.

Masculine yes. Feminine yes! And already husband approved. You gotta love that!

monday mood board: brass and bright office

We have been saving the office at a client's house for last. It is right off the entry and needs to work with the living room as well. I still have some work to do on it but here is what I am thinking so far.

I'm so excited to get this one started. Do you remember the desk?I am really digging offices lately.

monday mood board: 4 to 40 girl's space

This project has been in my head for about a year and a half. And hopefully it will begin this Spring sometime. I am eager to get this one done going. But since it's been in the works so long my mind keeps changing on all I want to do. I'm fickle that way.

I cannot wait to be able to tell you more about this space. There is so much more than this to show you.

Happy Monday!

monday mood board: pink and orange nursery

I cannot think of anything more fun than a first baby. So I was thrilled to put this plan together for this baby girl due in July.

The room was designed around this bedding from Land of Nod. I would love to share every source with you but that is not fair to the client. So I will share the gorgeous pink pouf with you. And also my idea of putting glass apothecary jars on top of the dresser to house her little hats and hair bows.

Baby girls are so fun!

monday mood board: master bedroom finishing touches

Today's MMB is for my fab friend Bridgette, who is the most stylish person I know. Someday I am going to convince her to be my personal shopper. She is also an awesome graphic designer who does great custom work. You will see some of her work coming up in a few client projects of mine.

Bridgette wanted a plan to finish up her master bedroom. She already had the key pieces but wanted help pulling it all together. She and her hubby had a nice furniture set and this gorgeous west elm bedding {no longer available}

Here is her mood board

The color scheme was so fun to work with thanks to the bedding and the chiang mai pillow. I wanted to break up her furniture set a bit with an upholstered headboard and a round mirror to replace the mirror that matched the dresser. I also loved the idea of having red lacquer handles added to their furniture. Adding a thick ribbon trim will customize inexpensive white curtains. And to finish it up Bridgette will add a few custom art pieces to the room.

I am so excited to see it all come together!

monday mood board: orange, brown and blue nursery

This week's Monday mood board is for Delia, who won my giveaway. She wanted help putting together her nursery for her little boy coming in April. The room also had to house her little girl for a few months, who sweetly wants to sleep by baby after he's born and then house guests that come along as well.

Delia had most of the furniture except for the daybed. We just needed to accessorize a bit. Luckily she sews and lucky too she is nesting soon! There are a lot of little diy projects and she is up for the challenge. I cannot wait to see pictures!

monday mood board: office + guest room

Today I'm so excited to kick off my new series Monday Mood Board. Some will be for me, some will be for clients and some will be for fun. I am going to start off with my much awaited office and guest room. It's finally becoming a reality and I think I pretty much have decided on everything and have a good portion of the stuff already. But another chunk of stuff will have to wait until I get to ikea next. A trip is scheduled for the end of May so....it might take a while but the good news is it's at least starting now.

I thought I would share the Ikea stuff I need to get. First is this table which is the exact size I need and lets face it the perfect price. I still really want the throw I posted on Friday. And I will need some storage and this set of drawers will be perfect.

I have some of the fabric and the campaign nightstands so at least I can get started. We also will probably have a queen bed in there for a while but I did find the perfect sleeper sofa while we were out last weekend.

I cannot wait for this room to be done so I can use this card table I'm working on for other things and also so our guests will have a better place to stay.

Happy Monday Mood
