cavallini lovin

One thing I look forward to at the end of every year is when the new Cavellini calendars come out. 2013 is not going to disappoint. I spotted this one at Anthropologie last night.

 I want it!

The botanica one is always wonderful.

And I think the vintage map

and the New York one look awesome too.

Of course I want to frame these up and put them all over. Which one to choose???

in love

I think I'm in love now...there doesn't seem to be anyone around. Excuse my singing. I am in love with this room. It's everything. Modern, traditional, vintage, love it!

Just when you were over chevron it pulls you right back in. Also, I think I have just about convinced Mr. Wallace that we should paint all our doors black. Mwah ah ah. Good thing he loves me!

getting close

A lot of fun is happening at a client's house. We have been slowly working on things but are so close to finishing up. Once we put this huge wall of white and gold frames up in the stairwell things really started to feel real. It is such a pretty wall! Here is a peek of that.

In the meantime, they get the lovely task of filling every frame and finishing up a few silhouettes. It's a big job. Luckily they are troopers, who have been so wonderful about all the projects they've been doing.

Here is a peek of another corner. Just waiting on another pillow and a few more accessories for this room.

So much fun and so close to a big reveal! I cannot wait!

And in other news

Happy NINE year anniversary to my wonderful husband!! It's been amazing so far.

art heart

One thing I haven't been able to collect much of in my 30 years is art. The last few years I have had a sense of urgency to get some. It takes time, sadly. But I am happy to say that my collection is starting out with a bang! Look what my sweet Grandma gave me the other day.

She painted it herself in 1972. And I love it! It will fit in perfectly in my office, {that is starting to come along nicely by the way. I will give you a peek on Friday :) }I just need to clean up the frame a bit.

She has done some amazing work and I am so lucky to have this piece. I also have an amazing and ginormous picture of the beach that she did. I am saving my pennies to frame that one because it is gorgeous. Plus, it reminds me of my life in California.

The best part about this painting is that it has such sentimental value. And I know it will be cherished forever. I love having history in my home.

nursery reveal

I'm so excited to have my first e-design sent back to me! I love how it all turned out. Here is the board one more time.

They did an amazing job getting it all ready for the arrival of their first baby girl.

I wish I could take credit for the stripes but the homeowners executed them perfectly before I came into the picture. They totally make the room.

I'm so in love with the fruit!

They worked so hard and it turned out so well. I am so happy to have been a part of it!
Happy Baby!!!

abstract art prints

I have fallen for BalletArt's beautiful shop. The technique is so interesting and the work is simply stunning. I definitely added these to my to buy list.

I am so in love with the peacock! I will always have a special and slightly odd place in my heart for peacocks. I also love the purple.

The abstract drawing of dancers is beautiful. All the ballet prints are so unique and interesting. Check them out!

art sources

The art was a mix of things we had, things I loved and thrifty finds. I had been cataloging art printables for a while waiting for the right moment to use them.

I used the hoops in the final hour, I was searching my stash for something else to hang on the gallery wall and stumbled upon these. Yes! I got the fabric from the room and had a nice pop of color. The square mirror and painted wood piece I got at a store called Utopia in California where everything is $10. I think I got it before my daughter was born actually. And the little square L was from Target when she was a baby.

The only thing I purchased was this print from The Wheatfield. I ordered it along with some others for another project in February. It really is beautiful!

I posted about Nicole's print here. My daughter asked me yesterday if we will have rainbows day after day. Love it!

I printed two from Lyndsay. She has some great freebies on her blog. Love is Spoken here is a favorite church song of mine and I love the quote. I had a sign made years ago that hangs in my dining area currently.

The bulk of the art including the other little wall of art was from Feed Your Soul art project from Indie Fixx. It's such a great place to look. I used these prints but there are lots more.

And lastly I printed one of these ABC prints from Kind Over Matter. The fours pictures on the skinny wall were from the last bedroom that all three kids shared. So we've had them for a while.
There you have it. A great way to have art when the budget is small. I think this is especially great for a space for kids. Have I missed any good sources? What have you seen to print in the world wide web?
