obsess much: antler wreaths

I officially want an antler wreath above my bed.

Love.

And you can get a fabulous resin antler wreath for about $795 at Oly

Or you could get the look for less at Restoration Hardware {I've never said that before}for $239. Even less for smaller sizes.

Maybe, just maybe it's something that could be a DIY??? I'm going to look into it.

I'm pretty sure this needs to happen over my bed, asap.

i wanna be that kid

Man, I want to be a Land of Nod kid. It's almost like Anthropologie for babies! Almost :) But, take a look and you will find you don't have to be a kid to want some of their stuff in your house.

Okay, maybe the rug is a little girly, but if my husband wasn't so manly I would totally use it somewhere.

This one I might just use anyway...I love it!

The Heirloom Rug is sure to make it's way into a current design I'm working on. Finally found the perfect rug!

You know what, just look at all the rugs! They are gooood.

I'm still super duper in love with this lamp.

Look how cozy this pendant is!

I would love a big W.

And last week I was talking with some ladies about how no one had lowercase kraft letters. Wrong!

Anyway, it's good to be a kid!

my favorite one

Remember my giant magazine? Still one of the best and worst things I ever did. One magazine I could not bring myself to rip up was the April 2008 issue of Domino.

I'm convinced it's the best issue of Domino (hello that's saying a lot!) and it is easily my all time fave out of all my mags. Just read through it again yesterday. If you are still holding on to this pretty one I think you should open it up too!

can't sleep

This morning I woke up at 5:20 and couldn't go back to sleep for my last 40 minutes because I was OBSESSING. Do you ever do that? I wasn't worried about finances, my to do list or anything normal. I was thinking about this light fixture I saw on Bryn Alexandra yesterday. She was obsessed herself and passed it on to me.

That's right.

I think I've almost figured out how I can turn a beloved Ikea Maskros into one. Almost, hence the lack of sleep. I can't get to an Ikea for at least 6 weeks so hopefully by then I can finalize my plans and be ready. I think it would be the perfect thing to replace the boob light in my front room. I have so, so many boob lights to replace....I think this will be a good one to start with.

What are you obsessing over these days?

i see a white door and i want to paint it black

I have had a thing for black interior doors for quite a while now. I first fell for them when I saw Nate's New York apartment and all the doors and cabinets were painted the coolest blue black gloss.

{Photos: William Waldron for O at Home, Spring 2007}

Still one of my favorite spaces of all time. I totally only watched Oprah when Nate was on....and for those favorite things too :) I will never forget sitting in my little LA apartment and swooning over this apartment. Too bad I didn't have DVR in 2007.

Here's a little video for you if you've never seen it.

Husband does not agree about the black door situation. He did say, "Why don't we paint all the doors a different color." Because that would look better honey. Hopefully I will wear him down over time. Or maybe after school starts and he is at work I will get my paint on and see what happens. But you see, I like to give my husband a say on design things. Mostly because he pretty much lets me do what I want in the end. And he also is very supportive of my design endeavors and craigslist addiction.

Maybe I can entice him with images like these.

Not a new trend at all but it is classic and timeless. I think it could really rock my house's world.
Wish me luck!

a tuesday adventure

Yesterday we had ourselves a little adventure! As you may know, our family just has one car. So that leaves me home...a lot. But every Tuesday we pile into said car at 6:20 and take Mr. Wallace to work. We come home and get ready. Get back in and have a morning appointment, then we try to function normally the rest of the day with tired kids. In short Tuesdays are always an adventure.

Well, since school is out we did this with the whole group all day. And for some reason, I thought it would be a great idea to take them all to my wholesale frame shop. And we did it! We turned a few heads in the process but whatever! I knew that if I didn't do it then I couldn't make it work until Thursday. In the end we piled in the car with one giant frame, {HUGE!} four large frames and two medium frames. Oh plus, glazier points and mat boards. A nice lady even felt sorry for me after my third trip and helped me out. Thank you nice lady.

What troopers! The chocolate helped...

We had the four frames in the back. Two in the passenger seat. And the big one had to go in between the kids and me. Let's just say my right arm got pretty tired holding it all the way home. But I kinda like my kid's faces so it was worth it :)

And if you are wondering why this was so important that I had to cram it all in with these guys. The answers are pretty simple. For one, I'm a little crazy and two...

About a month ago I stayed strong and sadly walk away from this $45 beauty. But $25!!! I couldn't even believe it was still there. Look how big and awesome it is!

Have you ever seen my dining area? It's a little boring. But, it's mine! But back to the star of the day. Giant. Gold. Greek key. Cheap. I'm thinking score!

Me and this lover have big plans. I just have to wait for a few client projects are wrapped before I can think about it again. It will probably always be there in the back of my mind though. I think I'm in love!

Sorry for all the exclamation points!!

obsess much? wallpapered ceilings

My sister in law has the most beautiful home on the planet. I love walking through it and catching all the details. Oh the details! I get to go visit this weekend and I'm excited to see all the eye candy again. One of my very favorite things in the home is all the wallpaper. The designer had so much attention to detail! There is a lot of molding and gorgeous wallpaper. Even on the ceiling! I've been dreaming about it ever since Thanksgiving! I will try to snap a shot or two while I'm there :)

Wallpapered ceilings are nothing too new but ever fabulous. And I happen to be learning how to wallpaper this summer when I do this project. So I have been obsessing more and more. But it's hard not to when it just keeps popping up!

I saw it in Lonny

I think I love it most with pattern on the ceiling and not the walls. Endless possibilities with this one. Which is your fave?

obsess much?

I will be the first to admit that I have a bit of an obsessive personality. There are many things I have been obsessed with in the past. Most are good things, others aren't bad but might be a tad embarrassing. Lately I've noticed a few obsessions creeping into my home that I wasn't really aware I had.

Like I clearly have a new obsession with blue and white trays. Especially ikat ones.

I've wanted serving ware for years and since we didn't get any of the ones we registered for and also lived in tiny apartments for years I never did. So this obsession crept up on me slowly with sales and ikea. The most expensive was the seven dollar striped ikea tray. The rest were target or home good finds and less than four dollars each. But now all my parties will have to go along with this color scheme until I can start obsessing over more neutral pieces. Or let's face it when I find ones on sale :)

So there is the first of many obsessions I have. Maybe I'm a bit crazy! Oh well.
 What do you obsess about?
